Ok really basic, stupid question.
What brand of doorbells (standard wireless) ones are good these days?
I used to be a big fan of Byron bells but the quality of them has gone through the floor and i'm lucky if a set lasts a couple of years now before either the receiver or the push goes, and the last one I got really didn't impress me with the battery in the push basically being free to move, and it not triggering either one or both of the receivers at random (had the same problem with the previous one despite new batteries in the push and the receiver that wasn't triggering the most being the plug in one).
I could just buy some at random from Amazon, but I've tried that in the past (I've got about 4 sets in a drawer somewhere*) where they've either not worked very well, or had "chimes" that were either too quiet, too loud, or just jingles/muzak
I don't want to go "smart" as I don't like the idea of a video doorbell much and from my brother in laws experience with them they seem more trouble than they're worth (he's got a ring door bell that seems to need resetting/re-pairing to his network every couple of months), although i do actually have a "ring" wired push (I got an echo 5 for 35 quid rather than 45 because it was bundled with it).
*Bought for things like letting me know that I was needed indoors if I was in the garage, and when my mother was ill we tried them as a way for her to call us if for example we were in the garden and she needed something (so the emphasis on those sets was big push, small chime).
