Bit of an issue with my X-fi sound card, try to play bf2/bf2142 and if the system has been on for a while i get no in game sound, re boot and it works fine.

Using windows xp home, what is the reboot likely to clear so i can hear the sound in game ?

only happens in game, video/dvd/music is fine.

combining it with medusa headset.

thanks..........

Got any IRQ's conflicting?

Try putting the card in another PCI slot, and see how it behaves.

Are you sure any onboard sound is proberly disabled?......

Had this problem before in the past when windows liked to go switching the sound device or losing the sound card as a device, with the reboot fixing it.

As above though, another PCI slot could well help.

hi,

just to let everyone now, tried the suggestions nothing worked, so i ended up reloading the motherboard drivers and everything appears to be ok.
