What is an HDMR port used for?

I have not heard of a HDMR port. It could be a HDMI port which is used for connecting to a HD LCD or Plasma display.

Hardware Direct MIDI Routing - no idea what it is but Google was my friend :p

Ah here it is

Hardware Direct MIDI Routing is a new technology, which allows the UM-880 and UM-550 to route MIDI directly in hardware. HDMR creates ZERO Latency internal MIDI patching by directly connecting any MIDI In and MIDI Out port. There is no delay generated within the MIDI data transmission process, unlike any current software MIDI patcher. HDMR offers you ZERO latency internal MIDI routing whether you are connected to the computer or not.

HDMR is the only solution for guaranteed low latency MIDI transmission between several devices. HDMR is not only a useful technology for a stand-alone MIDI patcher, but also an integral part of Fast Processing Technology. (Fig.1)
