what is better for gaming lcd or tft

i am thinking of upgrading to a larger screen 20+ inches but not sure what would be better for gaming tft or lcd also what would be a good resolution :confused:

most 19 inches run at a resolution of 1280 x 1024
most 20 inches run at a resolution of 1600 x 1200.

the widescreen versions are as follow :

19" = 1440 x 900
20" = 1680 x 1050

but either resolution is fine. But obviously higher resolution will look better in games, but will require more graphics power. Eg to run BF2 at 1680 x 1051 with 4xAA and 8xAF your going to need a an X1900 XT or 7800 GTX
