What is better/

I can get either of these cpus for around the same money but not sure what to get


P4 3.2 Presscot 800FSB

or

P4 3.4 Northwood 800FSB

I know the northwood has the higher clock but the presscott is a newer chipset?

Is the difference big and what are the pros and cons of each chip?

Get the 3.4 Ghz Northwood, faster performance and cooler running.

perhaps 5% at those speeds, but prescotts have the advantage of overclocking better due to there smaller fabrication process, albeit you require a hefty cooler if your overclocking either, but yeah northwoods are on average faster clock for clock because of slightly shorter pipeline
