What is Bulldog? #CorsairBulldog

I want a 540 obsidian. Thats not what it is but its what i want. Corsair, i have spoken make it for me :p

We've already brought up that idea to big George... I personally like Obsidian classy look and I also like the 540's ID and layout, totally up to George if he wants to make it happen. Hopefully in the future :)

Justing one word for the bulldog FUGLY!

The whole point of having a gamig pc in the lounge is for it to blend into the background and avoid detection from the wife. This sticks out like a sore thumb and not in a good way!

Exactly my feelings when I first saw the photos, I thought the ID was too aggressive to blend in with the rest of my entertainment system. Like you said, its going to stick out like a sore thumb. But to be quite frank, seeing it in person is way different from looking at the photos, it's more convincing I suppose. Then I came to realize that why would I want to hide when it's meant to stand out for others to see.. I thought of it as a good conversation starter with your friends and family, another reason for you to brag that you have latest and coolest stuff in the world. That's just me though, I can totally see that others will have a different take on this ;)

I'm not a big fan of black/red theme, but I can live with it. I'd spray paint it make it black on black or maybe grey :)

Seems weird that they are marketing it towards 4K when it looks like it'll only fit a single card, backed up by it only having a 600W PSU.

We figured 600W would be the sweet spot and should be more than enough for the type of build most people will put in this kind of system. That Bulldog 4K set up (Titan X) we have right now at Computex is pulling about a little over 400W under load. That gives you a good amount of allowance if you choose to overclock your CPU and GPU for extra performance.

I just watch the LTT video of this. It's pretty neat. I wonder if it will come prebuit or as a package for user to build in themselves? It looks so compact, seems like a difficult thing to put together. But then again, other ITX form factor cases are no easier to build in. Some folks are harping on the aesthetics. I think it actually looks okay. I wouldn't mind putting that under my TV.

The CPU cooler seems very mysterious to me. Some sort of low form factor AIO I assume. It might just be that case, but I don't like how it blocks out the motherboard and the RAM. There's a possibility it might be sold separately.

All in all, an intriguing piece of kit, but I must ask, why call it the Bulldog?

Thanks for the feedback.

Nothing official at this point since Bulldog is still in its early stage but AFAIK, we will sell it as a bundle (chassis, MB, CPU cooler, and PSU). Now for those who just wants to purchase the CPU cooler and PSU, they are going to be sold separately. Also, if SIs were to carry Bulldog, there is a good chance that they would sell it pre-built already for those who doesn't want to roll up their sleeves.

I haven't seen the spec for the fans yet.. but once we've got other things finalized, we'll surely let you guys know everything to the smallest details.

Given it's small size, it's a powerful beast :)

i don't like the bulldog or the lapdog i thin there is really not need for it

Yeah, it's not really for everyone. That's something that we've anticipated before developing the project. It's a new concept for us and for a lot of people, so I'm sure others will find it interesting, especially if you are a type of person that likes to play games in the living room.

someone told me that corsair are going to make changes to this case because of the negative feedback, does anyone know if this is true

We may or may not make any changes, we don't know yet since Bulldog is in its early stages. A lot of things could happen between today and the official release date, hence the community's feedback on Bulldog from all online chatters is vital at this point. We are actively monitoring all comments worldwide to see what the overall impression is from the general public.

Luke from LTT makes it sound like the case exterior is more of a pre-production placeholder, but not seen anyone else say that? Anyone know?

New Corsair logo is much better than the tramp stamp but I still don't see why it needed changing.

What they saw over at Computex is more like a technology demo unit. We wanted to show you guys what we have in mind for a compact 4K gaming machine specifically built for your living room. The exterior is not a pre-production placeholder, that exterior layout is designed to maximize internal airflow so you don't have to run the fans at a higher rpm, which translates to a quieter system.

If you are looking for feedback, make it look like a high end AV receiver.
Otherwise it'll have 95% less uptake that it could have, and it's already in a very niche market.

I'm with you on this one, more subtle and streamlined, classy in a way.

Thank you, that's duly noted.
