What is D0 Stepping

Hi there, so I might be getting a i7 soon. Woot!!

Just wondering, what is D0 Stepping? is it for overclocking? :/

It's like a revision level that represents when it was manufactured. The D0 stepping will be able to clock higher on a lower voltage than say a C0 for example.

it's a revision of the chip....each revision the letter and number change...think of it as improvements to the chip and a newer version of the chip

Typically, the chips start at A0, and as newer revisions are made, the letters and numbers change

My wishful thinking is E0 - 5Ghz at 1.3vcore would be nice! Knowing intel wouldn't never release that anyway.
