What is (in reality) a "medium" spec machine.

It does make you ponder what they would consider a light task then, maybe just leaving the PC on the desktop?

The reason I made this topic is because a friend purchased a 7600GS the other day, for a 939 A64 3000 with 1GB of ram. He asked if his setup was medium end or not, I am starting to think it is pretty high end TBH.

It is decent enough, of course on here he wouldn't even get bragging rights for being mid-range as many peoples second or even third machine is better specified than that but for the majority of the market he probably still counts as mid-high however it doesn't offer a huge potential for upgrade. :)

my monitor and gfx are so rubbish that normally i leave the game detail to where it is (average to low) and have the res to 1024x768 (max supported before it all goes fuzzy!!). i play NFS Underground 2 on that resolution with all detail quite average!! it just about copes without lagging.

lol i installed doom 3 about 2 years ago had to have EVERYTHING low!! and fps was still fairly rubbish!!
