I've just bought a 2nd hand 2011 Audi A3 2.0 TDI (privately) and it drove fine during test drive, so we picked it up a few days later and it has driven fine for about 4/5 days.
Then this morning it has come up with engine management light and gone into limp mode. the fault code has been associated with the DPF differential pressure valve, I took it to garage to check wiring/sensor etc and the sensor is completely missing and there is a bolt in the pipe where it should be.
The fault code will not clear.
Obviously the DPF system has been messed with in someway, seller is claiming it wasn't him but pretty sure he's lying as he mentioned removing DPF on previous cars before this one when i was viewing it.
I am waiting for a new sensor to arrive but I can't see that curing the issue given that the seller has likely done something else as well as just remove the sensor.
the fault code is PO651 - Sensor reference B open circuit.
So any help with this would be appreciated as my regular garage is not too clued up on DPF systems and usually refers them elsewhere
