What is isopropyl alcohol????????

Picked up 500ml of the stuff on the bay for about a fiver, slight overkill with the amount but will last a good few years.

I picked up a litre can from one of the electronics parts places.
I considered a 5 litre can from ebay, but decided I would never us it all.

Very handy stuff for cleaning computer parts and things like keyboards/remote controls (it works wonders for leaning dried coke off contacts ;)).

why was that dano?

They seemed to think I wanted to drink it. I explained that I wanted it for cleaning electrical components, CPU's, Heatsinks and the like and that I only needed a very small amount, they decided I must be lying and started asking for my name and address, I walked away at that point with the chemist following me to the doors all the while trying to get my personal information from me, I'm sure that if they had had a security guard that I would have been detained but I'm not a small guy and the chemist would have had great difficulty doing so himself.

Anyway I walked down the street to an independant chemist and very cautiously asked them and was politely asked 'sure, how much do you want?' which made me chuckle. Ended up explaining the incident to the guy there and we had a good laugh about it :)

I had same trouble at my local chemist ^^ He thought i was going to drink it. I pulled out £100 from my wallet and said i could go and buy as much alcohol as i wanted from the offy next door if i was that way inclined but nope, not budging lol. God bless ebay...

If you need it for the PC, just use Meths:
95% ethanol, 5% methanol and a tiny amount of colour

Cost about £1 for half a litre

It's all I've used for the last 20 years
