What is it with all these memory deals?

There have been some very impressive deals, keep up the good work!

This should make moving to Core i7 a lot cheaper than a few months ago.

I can get a i7 pc for £550.

The cheapest CPU is £200+

The Cheapest MOBO is £150+

Thats over £350 before you've started on the rest....

I'd hate to see the quality of the:

Case
PSU
RAM
Optical Drives
HDD
GFX Card

For your £150 or so change?

£35 ram, £52 for cm case and psu bundle, £20 dvd drive, hdd about £35 then a cheap card to get me started untill i have more money.

Most of which you'll probably upgrade within a couple of months....pointless mate. IMO its madness to buy the most powerful platform available and fill it with the cheapest parts....you might as well stick with what you have. I'd wait until I had the money to do it properly too.

These prices may not last. Because of intense competition among chipmakers a lot of these guys are on the verge of going bust (prices have fallen beneath the cost of production). Whoever survives will raise prices.

Always nice to have an optomistic outlook!

Actually though that is true. The Korean chip makers are all going under and being bailed out by the government. Sure in a years time memory will be cheaper, short term though it's not going to get much better for DDR3. Remember the GTX280 prices a few months ago and how they zoomed up overnight...
