What is my problem now then...

Hi,

Right, after my PC being stuck in a contstant boop loop before POSTing I tested it with another PSU, still did it, with HDD's out in other PSU, still did it, with nothing else connected apart from other PSU, still did it, so I sent the mobo back under warrenty,

Now OcUK say it POSTs fine every single time, the only possible thing it could be is my CPU, now CPU's don't break often do they? Especially with no overclocks on it.

Would it be my CPU that is dead and causing it since OcUK say its fine...?

Things I've done

- Tested Mobo + CPU + RAM in another PSU - Still failed
- Tested Mobo + CPU in another PSU - Still failed
- Sent Mobo back under warrenty
- OcUK said it was fine and are sending back
- Unsure to what the hell my problem is

Did you rule out the memory, the gfx or possible shorting? (i didn't see your other thread.)

What troubleshooting methods have you done to date? May be wise to list them so we don't cover old ground...

Oh yeah, I tried my RAM in another PC, which made it work fine.

Graphics card wasn't even plugged in, and it worked

Memory could still be a possibilty if it was a new build? (slight compatibilty issues maybe with just those stick - not necessarily the brand ot type as a whole)

did u try a different harddrive?

my mates failed but still booted windows till after the loading car then it restarted

I doubt it's the HDD as it does it when my HDD isn't even plugged into it.

What did the MB do when you switched on without any memory installed - did it give off any error beeps or just go straight to loop?

Reset the CMOS after putting it all together? might need clearing depending on RAM/CPU

No beeps, just looped

Done a CMOS reset twice on it, didn't work.

Was it a complete new build, did you add a new component to an existing machine or did it just develop the problem suddenly?

Nope, I see nothing, as it doesn't like, get to the part where it should display anything before it loops

It just suddendly developed, but it was originally a packard bell that I added to

What component(s) was the latest upgrade and how soon after did the system develop the fault?

Could you list details of your core components (if in doubt the complete spec)?

The latest upgrade would be.... HSF, PSU and RAM I'd say, which was back in March/May time.
