What is Port 25 ?

Hi all

Just had a look at my ISP's website and noticed they have changed all the pricing stuff and for the same price im paying now, i can get a 24Mb connection, unlimited downloads instead of 8Mb and 30Gb a month, but it comes with "port 25 blocked" or i can pay less and get the one without port 25 blocked

so question is, what is port 25 and worth the extra £££ ?

SMTP port. If you plan on running a mail server.

cheers for that, so i dont need it then as im just a home user that play games and I forward ports and collect and send mail

As Earth[Tera].bin said, if you're not going to run a mail server you don't need it.

been with them for a year or two, no problems what so ever, i never get disconected, i wals get 800 kb/s speeds (8Mb) and my gaming is low as 15 sometimes

I've also banned the owner a number of times for spamming on here. It's just a resold Enta service so it should perform well, identical to the rest of the resellers...

My point was that there are identical Enta resellers who aren't spamming *****.
