What is safe temp for qx6700 ?

Hi just wondering what are considered 'normal' safe temps for a quad core cpu? as mine currently idles at around 45-55C :S

ive heard similar problems from peeps with the 8800gtx in their system and thought maybe its this generating mental heat and boiling up my system so just wondering can anyone tell me their temps who has a similar system to mine (check sig) just for info i have an akasa eclipse case with an akasa amber 120mm intake and same exhaust, and a scythe ninja rev b cpu hs with the stock 120mm fan attached.

i think the max comfortable temps are the same as the dual cores which is 65°... i only say "i think" cuz i've never looked into it but remember reading it somewhere (just trying to help you out with an answer cuz no one else has ;))
 
I have the same processor & a GTX8800 graphics card & mine idles according to PC probe II @ around 36 degrees on air.

However, my pc is saying my processor is running @ 1GHz at the mo I think because I am using speed step & am idle.

I also need to increase the multiplier.
 
ok i am using speedfan 4.32 across all cores its now going from 35-45 idle with a 7x multiplier and speedstep enabled

so this seems ok to me, what about you guys? let me just try it under load ..

btw i am using a scythe ninja rev b, with the stock fan attached

EDIT ok under load the cores go to about 60C

is this too hot ??? :confused: pleeaaase help !
