What is that plastic thing that protects the GPU pins for transit and where can I buy one

Although many new GPUs have a plastic cover for the pins they aren't really necessary and I have had a new GPU come without one. Most GPU sold secondhand don't come with one in my experience. If you don't have an antistatic bag to put the card in some newspaper, then bubble wrap and then a cardboard box should be fine in my experience for transit. The last time my other half bought a second hand gpu from a secondhand shop they were given the gpu with no plastic cover or wrapping of any sort. I had bought an antistatic bag along, put it in that and it came home in a plastic carrier bag.
