What is the 4870 like?

Since my 8800GT has been returned and i am waiting for my money back i was thinking about a new graphics card.

I have been eyeing up the gigabyte 4850 1 gig version cheapest is 143 pound but i have seen a 4870 online for around that price also so should i get the 4870?

either 280x1024 ot 1600x1200 i have been use to 1024x768 with the 8800gt.

If it`s the passive version, avoid unless you have cracking case cooling. However, if it`s the overclocked version with the Zalman hs & fan, nice one.

If you can get a 4870 for that price, take it any day

Ye it was the oc version with the zalman cooler but i will go with the 4870 because im sure its a better card from what i have read.
