Hey guys, so i need some help choosing a new cpu cooler for my FX 8350. i have choosen a few:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-026-NC
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-009-PT

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-017-CS

So really its Air vs Water. I am looking to overclock my CPU, but only to 4.6-4.8ghz at most. If i get the air cooler, then i can have about 5 case fans, 2 exhaust and 3 intake which will give me good airflow hopefully, but if i get the watercooler then i wont be able to house all the fans. So what do i do?

specs:

mobo: Asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0
GPU: R9 280x
CPU: FX 8350
PSU: XFX pro series 750w
HDD: WD 1TB
CPU cooler: Cooler Master hyper evo 212
Case: Phantek enthroo pro
RAM: crucial tactical tracer 2x4gb, 1600

Thanks

I have the phantek PH-TC14PE and its a beast, keeps pace with the H110 from corsair but cheaper :)

Yeah, from the benchmarks ive seen the H110 is only 1 or 2c better but also louder. I have an overclock of 4.3ghz at 1.2v and temps get to 82c on prime but real world use it never gets above 65c.

What is wrong with the Hyper Evo 212 that you are using?

will a noctua or phantek cope with an overclock of 4.8 on an FX 8350?? cause if it will then i will just go for that

yeah haha, in one of my other posts when i was asking about temps and he posted a pic of it. AMD i think generally runs hotter though

Good luck with your aim to get that chip to 4.8Ghz. The good thing is that you will save money on your heating bill :p

its just i like the thought of like 5 fans blowing in my case, compared to like 2 one exhaust and one front intake if i get the watercooled

Yeah go for H110, no brainer! :)

Water cooler FTW!

I regretted bought Thermalright ultra 120 extreme years ago with Phenom II X4 940 for 3 years, cleaned the builds of dusts off air cooler was pain in ass every 6 months. I noticed huge different with Corsair H80 cooler with 3770K after 2 years use, there was no dusts. :D
