What is the best DPI to use for gaming?

I am going to buy the logitech mx518 and was wondering if the mouse is still up to todays standards? what is the recommended DPI for gaming?

i never use more than 2.4k.. most of the time on 1.6k

im not sure what you mean by 2.6k or 1.6k mate i am very new to all the dpi which is why i am asking about it lol.

Each person is different, you will have to try out the mouse and adjust it the way you like it

800 is standard for most mice...What i use

I still use my original ms inteli mouse with eitehr 500 or 1000 dpi (i think!) and thats fine for me.....

Yeah it's totally down to personal preference. On my laptop with my Razer DeathAdder I prefer 1800dpi but on my desktop I prefer 2000dpi on my G5.

It took me a while to get used to my MX518.

I had a MX500 before which is about 600Dpi (I think). I was changing settings left right and everywhere.

I decided to put my MX518 on the same dpi as the MX500, then i set the 2nd settings to 400dpi for sniping etc.

I still cant really justify it over my MX500 but it is a great mouse.

Been using my MX518 (refurbished) for 3 or 4 years now, nice mouse. You will not be disappointed.

MX518 is a fantastic mouse. Mine replaced a MX510 and took a little getting used to before i found the setting i was happiest with. 1200dpi is what i use most of the time. Only paid £14.99 for mine in the Christmas sales too.

It's your own preference really. I've switched DPI's from various mice becuase on how they travel on the surface.

I would give it 2 weeks on whatever setting you have it on, if you still don't feel compfortable change it around and try it again for 2 weeks.

When I first got my Razer Diamondback I hated it at first, I couldn't use it and it felt awkward. After a few weeks it was all good.

i use 3200dpi, takes a while to get used but once you get the hang of it its superb
