I5 its not worth the extra for an I7 as most games can't take advantage of the extra threads the I7 can do, and probably won't for a long time. Save yourself money and get I5
If you plan to keep the PC until at least Q2 2011 go i5. You will need to change motherboard whatever you upgrade to past that date (Sandy Bridge is out then).
If you plan to upgrade again before 2011 go i7. You will have the option to use the 6-core Gulftown.
The i5 currently represents the best value.
