What Is The Best Gaming CPU?

IMO Q9550 tho you wouldn't want to buy one new... might not always manage the highs of the i7 9x0 but seems more stable baseline performance than any other CPU for gaming - not sure if thats the cache talking.

If you plan to keep the PC until at least Q2 2011 go i5. You will need to change motherboard whatever you upgrade to past that date (Sandy Bridge is out then).

If you plan to upgrade again before 2011 go i7. You will have the option to use the 6-core Gulftown.

The i5 currently represents the best value.
