I have just received my 670 oc (thanks ocuk!).

I currently have a 5850.

What do I need to do to cleanly remove the ATI drivers, before I put my nvidia card in?

Express unistall all ATI software, reboot. Delete left over ATI folders in program files.

Turn off, install Nvidia card

Install Nvidia drivers, reboot.

Sorted

I normally uninstall amd drivers, then boot to safe mode and run driver sweeper, shut down install new card, reboot and install new drivers :)

I've always formatted windows when going from card to card, when it comes to updating and existing driver I normally never remove first. No idea if that causes problems or not.

express uninstall drivers via control panel
reboot
run driver sweeper 3.2.0 tick amd/nvidia clean
reboot
install new drivers
reboot

Strong magnet swiped directly over the drive.

I tried your method because I didn't want to faff around with uninstalling drivers, and happened to have a strong magnet to hand. Something seems to have gone wrong though, my computer makes a beeping sound when I turn it on and the fans sound like they are spinning really fast. Any ideas what is wrong? Should I magnet the computer again?
