hey all, i was told that 3d monitors offer a much better refresh rate than that of normal monitors, 120hz comared to normal monitors 60hz. what is the maximum hz rate of current tv/monitor technology? im curious lol. thanks

I think the highest in monitor tech is 120hz. Regarding TV's, they go up to things like 600hz, but I believe it isn't native 600hz.

Where a good 120hz monitor will actually be able to display 120 frames - TV's cannot since something like a Blu Ray movie is only displayed in 24-25 fps. Instead it creates the extra frames or something along those lines.

id be very interested to see some gaming testes on a 600hz monitor and see what is actually happening

considering i play at 60hz with an FPS of around 80, does that mean if i played on a 600hz monitor my graphics card would produce only 8FPS? that just doesnt sound right...

Your video card doesn't produce a certain FPS based on the monitor/refresh frequency used. Not to mention that for full effect on a 600Hz screen you'd need 600fps.. something there isn't even a connection standard for afaik (perhaps displayport can do but I don't think that's part of the official specs ;)).
