What is the best RTX 3060 in the $300 pound range? There's so many variants of similar price.

Unless desperate I'd maybe wait a little while longer...
GeForce RTX 4060 Coming June 29 and the 4060 range (406 8gb) starts at around £289 on the nvidia site.... it could potentially impact prices on the 3060...

I suppose that brings another question though. Which of the 4060 series is "best", as there's 7 different variants on Nvidia's website, all costing £389

Not the easiest question to answer I'm afraid.

You'll need to look at some of the reviews on the 4060 and 4060 ti, which to confuse things more also comes in 8 or 16gb variants... ideally you want more than 8GB vram these days).
General consensus on rtx4000 series is that the performance isn't necessarily bad but the pricing structure is just completely in the wrong price range in most cases.....

if you don't need RXT or DLSS, then the best 3060 is the 6650XT (faster and cheaper too)

Yeah, unless you need nvidia for some reason, a RX 6600 @ $200 is always going to beat a 3060 (for value) @ $300.

if there's a significantly better option for a couple hundred more that'd also be an option.

What are you trying to achieve?

For gaming at 1080p, then a RX 66x0 or RTX 3060/4060 is fine, but if you want to play new games @ 1440p or 4K, then you should definitely spend the extra on something like a RX 6800, 6800 XT or 4070. Otherwise, you'll struggle with that resolution already and in a few years it won't be viable, especially without res scaling.

For the models, as lsg1r said, you really need to read some of the reviews or roundups. I'd also keep an eye on the warranty length.

This is a 4070 roundup, which while it isn't directly relevant, it does give you an idea of which models are more or less 'premium':

7600 is also a great option at £259 with RE4 as a free gift
