Looking into the possibility of buying some RAM upgrade and I am trying to stick with OCZ seeing how my Plat Rev 2's have served me well. I am a Gaming monster so performance and reliability is everything to me.

I am totally confused however, between the two versions of the 3200 spec RAM see below:

Platinum Series:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/OCZ_Platinum_Memory.html
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series EL-DDR CAS2 (OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K) (MY-057-OC)
Price: £129.95 (£152.69 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Gold Series:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/OCZ_Gold_Memory.html
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Gold GX XTC Series EL-DDR CAS2 (OCZ4002048ELGEGXT-K) (MY-059-OC)
Price: £139.95 (£164.44 Including VAT at 17.5%)

so a tenner between them but one seems to be marketed at Gamers more,...but why ?
Any real performance difference to be expected between them ?

Cheers for the replies guys.

I can't go Corsair I have heard very bad compatability reports with the DFI boards.

As for upgrade,..the path and prices have changed so much in the last few weeks I am going to let the dust settle and ultimately wait for the Conroe boards to be manufactured in larger volumes and bugs to be ironed out, so probably not until next year for full replacement.

That is why I was looking at making what I have a little better, but the RAM thing (especially OCZ) is very muddy water.
This is a mine field as there are older versions of the Gold series with even slacker timings on some sites.
