What is the difference betwenn the x1900xt & xtx

Well both the Ram and GPU itself are clocked slower on the XT than on the XTX so you are paying for a guaranteed overclock but also potentially better materials have been used in the manufacture as BubbySoup mentions, I suppose in some cases they will use chips that can't make it to XTX speeds for the XTs but probably not worth the extra cash in most cases.

You could just buy the XT save the cash, and clock it to an XTX, then all you would be missing is an extra letter 'X', but the XTX would clock better as they are cherry picked. :)

Yup.

XTXs do clock better, although with some decent cooling and a voltage bump, the XTs clock nicely, but their memory isn't as good.

I run my XT @ 750 / 800 for day-to-day gaming etc. (that's with voltages bumped and watercooling the core).

I highly reccomend you get the HIS ICEQ X1900XT

It runs at XTX speeds about 5-10 degrees cooler than actual X1900XTX cards :D :)

Ok a proper answer here from a gaming perspective - Between 1 to 5 Frames per second, depending on resolution & game at stock speeds.

Worth the extra £40 ? Well thats down to the individual to decide, if money is no object get the XTX if you want to save £40 get the XT.

Your more or less paying £10 per extra Frame! - Personally I wasted money on the XTX!

Thats my opinion anyway.

Well, I guess you either pay the extra £40 or so or take the gamble on getting "a good 'un" XT......apparently the only sure way to check the RAM is to pull off the sinks and read ;)

For me, my Sapphire happily clocks beyond XT-X speeds, with no mods whatsoever......to be fair, I have only tried it up to 685/786 to date, but htis has been easily achieved in CCC with no fiddle-faddling......so, my 2p is go for the XT with fingers crossed - let's be honest, there really isn't likely to be a noticeable difference except the odd frame here and there and a few benchie points.....
