What is the difference? OEM Vs OEI?

In essence, they are the same thing, but basically OEM is a licence supplied to a big company with better quantity discount, whereas OEI (AKA DSP OEI or Delivery Service Partners Original Equipment Installation) is for smaller manufacturers that don't buy so many so the quantity discount is not as good.

OEI and OEM both have the same limitations on activation with hardware upgrades.

In some cases, OEM licences will have the company name printed on the licence, whereas OEI ones won't.

Also, in most cases Microsoft do not provide direct user support for OEM licences (support should be from PC manufacturer), whereas they may do with OEI.
