What is the difference....?

Itaniums are 64 bit out of the box and use a different instruction set to traditional Xeon/Pentium. They are only really being used now by HP in their Unix systems and even then not that sucessfully. They run (ran) standard x86 code very slowly via a pseudo emulator on the chip.
