What is the fastest SSD for gaming?

I have completed some tests on my Hard drive with the below software,

CrystalDiskMark - Software - Crystal Dew World

My Hard drive is .................

VelociRaptor Western Digital VelociRaptor WD1500HLFS 150GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"

I have been told this is very slow compared to a SSD SATA 111 [ My Rampage 11 extreme only supports SATA 11 but will down grade a SATA 111

Any reasons why these results look slow , I thought the Hard drive was quite a speedy thing.

Thanks
Gary

This is what i am getting on the system in my sig...and pointers to increase speed thanks

Mine

Yours

Just noticed where it gives the info on the drive where it says firmware and that yours says 1024.....mine is way higher...101888 that doesnt look right does it...mine also says ATA ...

like it's been mentioned an SSD will only help locally. That being said I have seen faster load times in MMO's when jumping around zones or into busy areas. You could hear the old mechanical HDD chugging away and that awkward stutter lag when you first enter a new zone

So yes while it wont directly help your online speed it will infact help with local load times.

The 1024K-OK is the disk offset of the partition, and if it's green then it's ok.

To get more speed download and run the Intel (IASTOR) driver, as I believe the MSAHCI driver is considerably slower.

11.1.0.1006 is the fastest AHCI driver http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20984/eng/STOR_Win7_XP_11.1.0.1006.exe

These are the results from my SanDisk Ultra SATA II also running on my Rampage II extreme

Only had the SSD for a few days, its big improvement over my standard HDD. But i wonder if its worth me getting a SATA III expansion card with SATA III SSD to double the speed......

The problem here seems to be that everyone is focusing on only one online game (BF3) to get a point if the OP should or shouldn't get a SSD/SSD RAID..
The point is that (like someone said) single games exist too, and not only the OP will play BF3 in the years to come. Besides, there are other programs installed.
So, IF the point is only the behave/point/utility of a SSD under BF3/multiplayer plataforms, then maybe you're right, it's not much a difference from the VelociRaptor he has now due to all that 4K/queue/stuffs you have posted..
An investment of this kind should work at least for the next 3-5 years for the OP, so the softwares/games in the year to come will get a gain in performance over his actual drive.

I insist: OP, if you can, get a SSD.. Which one?. Well, almost everyone has told you which brand/size/controller.. ;)

Best regards.. :)
