Hi,
Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

One setting I have come across is the LDT Frequency. Defaults to 5x

Does this have any affect on overclocking and stability? Not found much on google, and what I found seemed to steer towards AMD processors. I am running an E6550 C2D on an NForce 650SLi board.

If its used in overclocking, do you move the multiplier up or down the scale?

Thanks

This is almost always seen on NVidia chipsets and it stands for "Lightning Data Transfer" would you believe. It's the number if multiples of the Front Side Bus speed that the connection between the CPU and the Northbridge runs at. When the overclocked FSB gets very high then it can be useful to reduce it to 4x as it can make the system more stable at a given Northbridge voltage.

Thanks.

Another quick question.

Is lower always better? I will have to see if it can assist me getting above 3ghz stable on an overclock
