Hi,

I have some extremely important data that has been deleted. The story is long, but essentially it boils down to whether someone has been lieing about their data. The suspicion is that the data has been deleted by someone to cover their tracks.

So, my question is: what is the very best data recovery software? price is no object.

I just want to cover a couple of things. Firstly the data isnt backed up elsewhere (as it isnt my data). Secondly, i will take the drive to a professional in data recovery but i think it should be an easy task to do myself. I just wanted to avoid people suggesting these things.

The computer is off and i have removed the hard drive. The computer that the files have been deleted from is not used very often so there is a better chance of recovery.

If anyone can help, i would appreciate it more than i can convey in words :)

Thanks.

thanks for that guys... i hope the software is better than their webpage :)

I will buy something in maybe 3 hours or so when i get home from work with the suspect drive. I hope i am wrong, and that my suspicions are not confirmed.

thanks helmutcheese. You had me ignored at one point. Im glad u removed it :P

I shall never argue with you again.

appreciated.

If its sub £75 then i dont mind :) any more than that then i will buy midrange first, and if it cant achieve what i need then buy something more expensive

Its nowhere near £75 and saved me from a HDD that appeared RAW after Crosshair Mobo fried.

It can also do all sorts of Raid recovery.

BTW, the more you mess with the HDD running any other APP'ss inc this on it, the more chance of non recovery.

Run it for free, see if your happy with results then pay for it.

I simply booted to a spare HDD with Windows on it and used the RAW drive as 2nd drive and recovered all the DATA to the Windows drive.

The bonus is, it saves the DIRECTORY also, so all your files will be like "C/MY MUSIC" etc etc and you can use that CAT view or if easier swap to the TREE view and use the little +'s down the side same as Explorer.

I'm trying File Scavenger at the moment but what is confusing is that I'm trying to recover files from a raid 0 array however it only scans/recovers from 1 disk at time.

Have I missed something ?
