What is this a symptom of?

Im playimng the new CoD and during the sequences I get these horizontal lines that sort of move up the page. Is this something to do with refresh issue?

Also sometimes the video is faster than the audio.

Any ideas?

That sounds like screen tearing. Do you have v-sync enabled? As for the out of sync audio, that's a bug in relation to the option to preload shaders and so on ( I can't remember what the options are called, someone will no doubt know), try turning those off. It'll increase your load time but should solve the out of sync issue.

Correct its probably to do with your monitor refresh rate vs the fps you are running, Vsync on should remedy the tearing.

The option is called Shadow Preload

That's it and there's another one, sun spot cache or something like that.

Is it like a blury ripple effect on the screen? I get something like that briefly (<10 secs) when i return to game from the desktop and its a driver issue.

Those 2 I always have off as it gives a blurry image quality

Yes, those. Turn all 3 of those options off and vsync on and that should do it.

Also should cache maps be ON or oFF? Its unclear from the posts. This is a game setting? Whereas V Sync is a GFX card setting?
