What is this account balance on my eBay account.

I checked my ebay account and it says "Current Balance: -£21.49". I also noticed that it's negative, but it is highlighted in green.

Any thoughts?

Money you owe eBay, for things you sold, listing and final fees, will be invoiced and charged against your default payment method (99% of cases Paypal account) at some point today, the 31st.

It shouldn't be -£21.49 though. It should just be £21.49 if it was ebay fees. My balance is a £1 this month and was £1 last month (took advantage of a sell and pay only £1 offer). On last months statement the only -£1 is when I made a payment. This months statement my balance is £1 and will only show a minus when I make a payment to clear it. That would suggest to me that they owe you £21.49.

If you click on "view all account activity" you should be able to see what is going on.

I think ebay works to other way around. The negative is your credit AFAIU

My balance is +£50 which I know means I owe £50 for the past months selling

You're in credit and it's a result of fees that you had already paid but were later refunded (I.e. a cancelled sale).

The next time you create an auction, any fees due will subtract from the credit balance.

The good news is it appears you can request to have the credit refunded
