I'm guessing at the end of the hitman install you opted not to install directx?

If so run the setup for directx off the hitman DVD because it updates certain directx libraries etc.

sounds about right
even if you THINK you have the right direct X its updated quite often now and not included in windows update, insted people producing games have to include the installer with the game so that its always got the right one!

Ok got it going, thanks chaps. I've had to put it on my old pc, the new one's out of it for a week or so.
