What is this for? (crap pics)

I found this in the cupboard at work and nobody seems to know what it does. There's no make or model number on it and no hard drive installed.

dont think its a router

theres no wan port from what i can tell
just 4 10/100 ports and 2 1000m ports (poosibly uplink ports)

ill guess that its some managed switch
not sure what the vga port is for, perhaps a console or some kind of networked kvm?

It's got a VGA port on it, get it powered up and and see what it says. I must admit I'm intrigued...

Chassis is designed for a DIY open source router/firewall, so that's what I'm going with.

Google FX5624 and the 4th link for me is a OCuk competitor which has a product with exactly the same rear port layout.

was just about to say I know what that is! Anyway....as you know now you can see that although a great idea, they appear expensive for what they do!
