What is this insect?

Devils Horse Coachman or something like that?

I think you're thinking of devils coach horse, I was thinking that but looks like it has yellow on the sides...not sure if they have that.

Does it put its tail up like a scorpion when you poke about at it?

That's the one, I even linked to the right one lol. I've googled and can't find any with the yellow markings but it's movements are identicle. I was only watching one in my back garden yesterday. Can't think what else it would be?

That can't be right.....Theres no yellow / orange bit on it?

I say orange, because I saw something exactly like this in the car park where I was skating yesterday....Really weird.

Has six legs I think, and it sticks its head end out as if it's standing right on the tip of it's rear...Also the ones I saw had orange down the side of them.

Found it:

But Asian beetle larva isn't coming up with anything?

EDIT: Oh, apparently 'Asian lady beetle larva/larvae'.....? =/

Looking at it, that's the stage before it turns into a lady bird...or adult.
