What is this "latest rule change" please??

From a recent thread now closed:

"Based on the latest rule change, this topic needs to be created again, but within Speaker's Corner.
If you wish to re-open the thread there you are welcome to do so, but please be mindful of the additional rules around that particular sub-forum."

What latest rule change is this and what criteria makes it necessary for a discussion to only take place in the Speaker's Corner?

One might get the impression robust discussion is being delierstely stifled and segregation by political allegiances and opinions on contentious subjects is occurring Are we seeing political apartheid in action here?

So has the thread in question effectively just been blocked from further discussion, or has it been moved over to the Speaker's Corner? And it seems the answer to what this "latest rule change" is, remains awaiting clarification.

Probably because the OP had some pretty homophobic undertones and wasn’t SC worthy.

But the moderator is suggesting that thread be recreated in SC, and has blocked further replies to it in GD....
