what is this network cable called?

just wondering if its a RJ45 network cable that would be plugged into (i think) an Asus A8R-MVP?

sorry if im being dumb and talking non-sense, trying to find out if a straight through connector for an RJ45 is the correct type. Any way i could find out without being at the computer at the moment, maybe by telling you what type network i got?

There you go.

PC-to-PC = crossover, PC-to-router (or cable modem) = straight. Usually, anyway.

ok thanks for the quick reply. guess it will work then as i have pc to router. a special cable isn't neededis it? would be silly if it did, but i didn't want to find out after receiving the item that i gota wait a few more days for a different cable to come
