What is this snake, found it in the garden

Just wentout for a fag and saw this thing!! Saw a much bigger one a few weeks ago when cutting some trees down but it ran away. Anyone know what it is? It's alive. Bit worrying it's there

Slow worms don't have a snakes toung though does it? Honestly the one when i was cutting tres was least 1ft

I've never seen one whip its tongue out. My cat brought one alive into the house, didn't want to see it killed so I picked it up and placed it outside.

There harmless, you'll know if you see a snake as they'll hiss and go into an S shape.

Not all snakes do that but i swear it's a snake. I have no idea how it got there, guessing a bird maybe dropped it
