We've had this delivered to work to be galvanized, but just wondering what the hell it is, so any ideas? it was quite rusty in places, so all the holes have had plates welded on, so I'd say it's from the 70's?

We've done a porsche 911 in the past but this puzzled me, and quite why people want to add the weight of a zinc coating to their sports cars I dunno(I know it will stop it rusting, but still..)

I've got the image of the completed car in my head, but can't think right off what it is. Probably will be quite miffed when someone points out the obvious to me..... ;)

Alfasud Sprint (Chassis;))

It must have been kept in an hermetically sealed chamber or something, because it really should be a huge pile of red dust! King of the rot-boxes!!

Shell looks cool, but the final car looks pants.

Cheers! nothing (too) special then. It was quite rusty, a guy spent a few days patching up the holes, though when it's galvanized should last a while longer.

Out of interest how much do you charge to galvanize a car of that size?

I'm really not sure to be honest, only ever had 2 cars in the 5 years I've been there, the other car being a 911, it's normally fencing and gates we get. It's had to have a frame built and bolted on so the chassis doesnt warp when it's hot dipped, quite a few hundred quid at a guess, the zinc is quite expensive.
