Is that bar threaded? Can't quite see in the pic..... if so, hub/shaft puller of some sort?

It's a hub puller. I've got one exactly the same as that in the garage somewhere, sort of thing you desperately need some day and then never gets used again

Im going with the idea thats its a hub puller. most logical.

Is it used to take the hub out to replace the wheel bearings or am I way off?
