Lo,

Just been watching "The Premiership" and it was showing the West Ham game, and quite a few of the fans had a lot of negative things to say about Lee Bowyer at the beginning of the game.

Not only that they had a load of posters in the crowd with things like "West Ham Fans United Against Racism".

This puzzles me completely, not only is Bowyer probably the best player they have purchased in a long while, he is a bonafied proven quality player who can only aid the team in their struggle for survival, but he was also found completely NOT GUILTY of ANY charges in his court case ?

Bowyer has a history of violence and rascist behavior, West ham is in a district with a LOT of asian's , Bowyer has commited acts of racism against asians before.
So its because Bowyer is a racist thug and West Ham have sold out, that is why Hammers fans have a problem.

You mean the story and picture below I think its well harsh how there treating him hes a player looking for a new start and to get away from the past which has troubled him... how can they expect him to perform when the crowd are calling him a racist... hes playing to keep THEIR team up for gods sake, whats protesting agasints him gonna do except make him play bad and possibly get the team in more lumber than they already are.. Im not defending what bowyer may or may not have done in the past but theres no need to keep going over and over it... btw you notice all the people protesting seem to be white middle aged women... hmmmmm i didtn know he was racist against them  ... I read the news of the world today and they did interviews with black/asian west ham supporters at the ground and nearly all those they interviewed said hes a fantastic player and why wouldnt they sign him, forgive and forget that sort of thing... its just some hippies trying to kick up a stink

You think? It's not just that they're a small-time club that aren't very good?

A FORMER girlfriend of Bowyer's, Emma Keeney, says he split up with her when he discovered she had an Asian grandparent. She says that when he found out, Bowyer immediately ended the relationship, claiming he could not risk "a brown baby".

Lee Bowyer was charged and fined for affray in 1996 after attacking Asian staff at a McDonald's in east London. The Daily Mail describes what happened: "In September 1996, three months after Bowyer signed for Leeds, 17 year old A level student Shamsul Mia encountered him on a night out in London. Shamsul, whose family is from Bangladesh, was working part time at McDonald's on the Isle of Dogs when Bowyer and some friends pulled up in a minicab. Shamsul served him a 69p cheeseburger-but Bowyer threw it to the ground and said he wasn't going to eat anything served by a 'f...ing ****' He demanded another burger and said he wanted to be served by a white person. He launched into a tirade of racist abuse. Bowyer and two friends began hurling chairs at the young waiter and his colleagues, all but one of whom were Asian. Shamsul and another worker had to be treated in hospital. Incredibly, the incident was not treated as a racist attack. Bowyer pleaded guilty to affray and was fined £4,500 by Thames magistrates-just half his week's wages at the time."

Jonathan Woodgate beat up a young student just nine months before the attack on Sarfraz Najeib. Woodgate was arrested but released without charge.

Maybe its students they dont like!!!

Nah seriously, i remeber the attack when he was at leeds, whether he did it or not, that lad took a serious beating, bowyer just seems to attract the wrong sort of attention where ever he goes, shame cos he is a damn good footballer.

Wonder what west ham fans will do if he keeps em up?

I didn't know about any of that.. compared to Bowyer, Roy Keane is Mother Teresa.

No way, Keane is pure evil!

He fowled someone who nearly ended his career with an equally bad challenge who then stood over him and taunted him! He should have been banned for life tbh. It's also important we never let him forget this hanus crime, afterall, he admitted to it in his book, and he also looks shouts at people on the pitch sometimes.

Bowyer, Woodgate and the other Leeds lads are safe guys, who cares what they've done in the past? It's what they do on the pitch now that matters!

Bowyer, Woodgate and the other Leeds lads are safe guys I think you mean thugs, who cares what they've done in the past? It's what they do on the pitch now that matters!

Sorry, just trying to point out that the anti-Keane feeling that is so prevalent on these forums is often very hypocritical and unfounded, especially with thugs like Bowyer and Woodgate around who seem to escape any criticism at all. :)
