I has done this before when it was recently installed (well the other time it was 32bit), much faseter it started booting all slow, the most recent thing to happen explorer stopped responding... I never really do stuff to my sys to mess it up, I know about bitrot that windows seems to suffer from... That most times doesn’t happen with in a few months... Plus, I don't really boot it up until a good game is out to play... That is not a lot with me...

Never had any issues with Windows 7 64bit - my installs all boot up v. quickly. If explorer is frequently stopping responding then there is likely some hardware issue/failure somewhere - that is often one of the early symptoms of failing RAM or a CPU that has been overclocked with a lot of voltage too long and too far and suffering electromigration issues.

Think we have about 100 W7 64 machines, all fine. Many are running on machines that were originally supplied with XP and Vista (although most of those are probably running 32bit).
Same. Lost count of how many windows instances I've deployed over the years.
