what is xp doing now : office 2000 will not install ???

any ideas

have just rebuilt my pc backup, installed all the updates etc etc

office 2000 will not install, goes throught the process and it crashes with a ms error of some sort,

worked before and now it does not,

have microsoft done something to stop me using old office products on xp sp2
