What is your internet security setup?

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Running avast! Antivirus, Malwarebytes and Windows Firewall.
Chrome with Notscripts, Adblock and Flashblock.
Firefox with NoScript, Adblock and Flashblock.

Served me well for the last 5 years or so.

As for my laptop with Ubuntu 11.04, I just use Chrome with same addons as above.

pfsense on a desktop pc as firewall

on my windows 7 client i have peerblock. I block several entire country ip blocks as well as government ip ranges and corporate ip ranges, ads etc.

I also use proxifier and ssh tunnel to a dedicated server that i rent. All traffic apart from utorrent and games and a few other apps goes through tunnel.

oh and browser, i use flashblock addon in firefox to stop malicious flash.

Anti-Virus - Norton IS 2011
Anti-Malware/Adware/etc - Norton IS 2011
Firewall - Norton IS 2011
Anything else - (FF5) NoScript, AdBlock+, oh and a little common sense goes a long way too

Before anyone slates Norton, I'm a long time user of ESET/Kaspersky and only recently switched to Norton 2011.. and I'm finding it superb, plus it's dirt cheap with student discounts etc.

Anti-Virus - Microsoft Security Essentials

Anti-Malware/Adware/etc - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

Firewall - Windows 7 Firewall and as far as I know, router is also a firewall ;)

Also run AdBlock on Chrome to save myself from ads

And some common sense :)
Exactly the same as me. Works well.

Router as a NAT firewall, windows firewall, and Avast free.

Documents (which are in a true crypt file)/pictures/videos /music on a NAS Server (running Unraid), which is on a UPS ,set to shutdown after 5mins on battery.

Any changes made to documents/pictures/certain videos backed up immediately to usb drive using bvckup

Once a week , sync'd automatically to the cloud (documents/pictures/music)

Emails from my domain go to google mail, then down (imap) to my machine (outlook) (so all emails from over the last few years still up there on google)

My machine has a 60Gb SSD, all documents, videos, pictures when i access them go to the NAS. Image of my machine are also stored on the NAs (macrium image) This updated about once a month (really nothing should change on the machine, other than windows updates, virus defn, newly installed programs.)

You said it's dirt cheap,is it free? because the free alternatives are dirtier...cheaper and free-er :p

As a non business user you should not (and do not) have to pay to keep your computer(s) secure. I understand that if something does go wrong then you're more at ease because you can blame the company you've paid for a product whereas with a free version it's not that simple but this happens very rarely these days.

And when it does it's usually with paid software like the Kaspersky definition update debacle of 2010.

Anyway.

Anti-Virus -MSE (resident) +
Trend Online Virus Scanner (on demand)

Anti-Malware/Adware/etc -
MSE (resident) + MalwareBytes + SpyBot + Trend Online + SuperAntiSpyware

Firewall -
Router NAT + Windows FW

Anything else -
AdBlock Plus & Common Sense. I've blocked all P2P for my LAN except for my PC via a rule so some extra security there.

A classic Cisco Pix 506 Hardware Firewall at home
All text based configuration via the popular "Putty" program.

Fully Locked down only the outbound routes i need are allowed, to Increase my security & to hide my internet use & IP's etc I can VPN to a numerous remote connections & use there networks & internet connections.
Works a treat

One time me & a few of my fellow work buddies we managed to route a connection from our place of bussiness through 14 different countries, 26 different networks & 18 different ISP's
Two of the links went via the equivalent of the local authorities as well, one in the UK & one in France.

The connection took us 2 days to setup & in the end was too slow & websites timed out too quick. LOL Security was so tight on the connection that loads of sites & routes would not go load correctly or CRC errors corrupted the data.

BTW We had permission from all the owners of the servers & networks as this was an experiment we was working on.

AVG antivirus is pretty good for free, Adware and spywareblaster.

Firewall is Cisco ASA, you gotta love Cisco.

PS: ^^^ that sounds like the classic, "I managed to get 165mph in my MR2 Turbo on my private road in my back yard one time" :D

UAC = off
Anti Virus = I upload to virustotal.com and windows defender is on for realtime scan.
windows firewall = on
Browser = firefox, sometimes with no script

Microsoft Security Essentials anti-virus with default UAC
Malwarebytes anti-adware
Windows Firewall and NAT from router
Adblock extension(s)

Backups to NAS drive.

I don't really download much, and if I do it's usually by a 'big' company. I also find A/Vs to be quite sluggish. But anyway:

Anti-Virus - None

Anti-Malware/Adware/etc - None

Firewall - Routers Firewall and Windows Firewall

Anything else (eg. browser protection like NoScript) - Common Sense

I also make 'full' backups using Acronis every month, and Windows Backup around once a week.
