Hi. Got a 3GB .ISO I need to burn onto DVD so computer reads it etc.

What is a good free .ISO burner.

I am using Win 7 64.

Also do I burn it as a certain type of file, or just burn it as a .ISO?

Bit new to this thanks,

Oh I presume this can be asked? if not, sorry and delete.

Thank you

well I double clicked the .ISO file and nothing happened.

Downloaded Imgburn and that seems to be doing the job.

under type for the file. It says elby.VCDMount.1

but right clicking it says .ISO

anyhow it is burning now. But nothing happened when I double clicked it

Just got a window popping up saying 'windows cannot open ......what do you want to do etc.

Right-click > Open with > Windows Disc Image Burner

+1

You broke your file extensions.

Windows 7
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations

Change ISO > Windows Disc Image Burner

P.S if it's a DVD your burning out of the box it wasn't supported. There is a 3rd party addon you can add so that it burns DVDs too.

I find BurnAware to be the smallest yet fully functioning disc burning app, it's also free. IMGBurn is used at work but at home I use BurnAware as it's so robust.

I use ImgBurn also, did what I needed it to do fairly swiftly.

You could just mount the disc using MagicDisc or some other mounting tool.

did you do it as "burn image file to disk" ? which creates an actual disk from the iso image file
because "write folders/files to disk" would just burn the actual iso onto a disk as an iso file
