Well good evening! Just interested in the keyboards everyone uses and whether they're any good.

I want to upgrade my ageing Saitek Eclipse and after eyeing up OcUK's stock I quite fancy treating myself to something a bit better. I have a few requirements though:

I write constantly, so it must be a good keyboard to type on with keys that aren't too noisy - silent would be fabulous.

A genuinely good backlight - my current Saitek looks great from over the top of it, but viewed from the normal (seated) angle the backlighting is abysmal.

Thirdly, it must be able to take years of constant use and the odd attack by a 17 month-old.

Do any of your keyboards fit the bill?

7 years of muck and food and crumbs and disgusting little skin flakes that have stuck together and formed little globs of me under the keys - sometimes it makes em stick in the depressed position! :(

No wonder they're depressed!

So many awesome keyboards around these days: think I'll go for the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard. Their customer service sounds amazing!

One of those steampunk keyboards would be fantastic.

Well, my Logitech Illuminated Keyboard arrived this morning and I really like it so far. It seems to be very simple, but very good quality. The illuminated keys are perfect and make my old Saitek look like a joke. The lesser downward key travel is making me type faster already, I swear!

has anyoen had any experience with this one:

It actualy looks quite good, and everything I need. Considering it.

If the OP is still interested, looks like it might fit all your needs too.

Thanks mate, but I picked up a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard :D It's a really nice, quality product and I like the company. I'm still getting used to the shallower, almost laptop-style keys, though but I've definately noticed that my word count is higher due to less down travel needed to depress the key.
