What kind of a deposit would you need...

Ok so I gather from the good advice from the helpful posters that I need to go and see a mortgage specialist, my bank offer mortgages and i've been with them since I was 16 and I have an excellent credit rating so I think the first port of call is to get a rough idea from them

What I still need to figure out is the amount i'll need to borrow so i'll have to start looking at estate agents websites to get an idea but i'm hoping £100k will tick all the boxes because i'm secretly hoping for 10% of 90-100k

Whens that rich MILF going to come into my life :(

Thanks for all the helpful posts

Don't waste your time looking at agents web sites, just use Rightmove, if an agent isn't feeding to them then they're probably not worth using anyway.

Cheers i'm a bit behind you though and really need to get saving and stop ****ing all my money up the wall but i'm researching now because I find it much easier to save and get on with these things if I have a clear goal in mind

I need to pay the car off first too but at least i'll be able to sell it and use that money toward the deposit but then i'll have no car :(

Interesting to know you got 10% of 100k anyway

Rightmove, ok cool i'll use that to base the figures on but whats particulary good about this site bearing in mind i'm a total noob?

It's probably the biggest listing of houses for sale online, hence why I posted it for you :p

If you can manage with out the car then sell it early and bank the money, then you don't lose more on the car.

Just got a mortgage at 10% deposit, still quite a few deals around at that rate that are pretty good, mines with brittania, think hsbc and co-op are also offering good deals. Higher deposit is obviously better but I was saving all the money myself and +20% on a 250k mortgage is crazy money.
