Anyway. Now I have your attention. I want to talk about the new upcoming PSUs from Antec.
They are called the EA Gold Pro. As you can guess they are 80 Plus Gold rated, they are semi modular and to boot are made by Seasonic, so are some of the best in terms of quality and performance.

We are offering a lovely 7 year warranty for peace of mind too.

There will be a 550w, a 650w and a 750w version.

With the exception of the 24 pin MBU connector all other cables will be the excellent flat style for easy cable management.

Below is the 750w spec data...
The only change other than the wattage is the 650w and 550w has 1 x 4+4pin only and 6 x sata connectors
The 550w also only has 2 x PCI-E connectors.

Are these based on a modified Seasonic Focus Plus Gold platform by any chance? Same dimensions and voltage distribution and the internals look similar too. If so these will be cracking units. Any idea of pricing yet?

Yes, they are Focus Plus based.

550w = £69.99
650w= £74.99
750w = £89.99

That's aggressive pricing from Antec. The 550w could have done with being a bit cheaper as the 650w is only a fiver extra. Still, it's good to see decent psu's priced so competitively.

Funny you say that I told my HQ the 550w and 650w price was very close together as well.

seems crazy. Why would anyone buy the 550W? even if you only needed a 450W PSU best to go for the 650W to put it under less strain and it should then easily last well beyond the warranty for the extra fiver.

Yeah I'd be buying the 650w, I remember when I got my old G2 1000w for £130, it was worth the extra money even though I don't use it

Nice line up, pricing on the 550/650 seems really close. And more Seasonic based units on the market definitely isn't a bad thing
