What kind of distances would you do on a 125cc

Would 170mi be over the top, this would just be a once off every now and again, would be quite tiring i would imagine. Take into count that i have only had a 2 hour lesson in a car park so far. I could see myself losing concentration though on a long ride. How often would you stop etc..

Rookie question i know.

As others have said easily doable, plan the route you need to take, take breaks every so often if you deem it fit, if only to stretch your legs.

One thing to bare in mind with 125's is they are smaller physically (compared to more powerful bikes) so cross winds can make the journey a chore, so if you know the route you would be going try to avoid long stretches of roads open to cross winds. Can't always avoid them but if you can plan around the most it will make the journey more enjoyable.

Don't overly worry about only having 2 hours on a bike so far, confidence only comes with riding, so if you can, get yourself out and about on the bike as much as you can.

What i would personally do with a journey that long would be to split it up into say 3, ride to stop A then take a 5/10 min break, then on to stop B and repeat, then again at stop C, this would allow enough bathroom breaks enough time to stretch if needed and time to regain concentration if that was to dwindle.

Whenever I bob out on my bike I just break it when I feel like it Ive found tesco carparks make a good second home hah, I know people that have done trips to France and back, from Lancaster to lands end and so on and they managed it just with plenty of stops and patience.

Depends on the bike - I once did 180miles (90miles each way) in a day on a chinese Honda CBR125 clone... it's 1-pot engine mounts were solid metal, so all those vibrations went through me!

I was a touch numb at the end of that... still did it, but I was very glad to get back on a big bike!

I would recommend you do you direct access and jump on a bigger bike asap - they're much easier to ride (despite how counter-intuitive that may sound).

Do it on one of the v-twin cruiser style 125s and you'll have a much more pleasnt experience.

Heck - even a Yamaha YB125 is a decent little bike & tons better than what I had to ride :)

Hehehe I've done 240+100+240(return leg) with a 50cc (I went on a vacation with it, all the miles done over a course of 20 days). Took me 12 hours one way, took at least an hour and a half resting (spread into 7-8 breaks), my butt was destroyed but I was happy and loved the ride. :D
