I have a wireless modem with four ethernet ports. What kind of cable do I need to connect it to the PC for wired internet - straight, crossed, UTP, ftp - I'm clueless:confused:

lol sorry I had to chuckle.

Just a standard straight through Ethernet cable will be fine with rj45 connectors on the end

You need some optical fiber with LC connectors :p
All joking aside... Pretty much what DJMK4 said... a standard CAT5e cable (UTP - Untwisted shielded pair; will help to reduce interference, more so with FTP) with RJ45 connectors.
