What kind of oil do I need to maintain an electric saw blade?

the manual will say if oil is needed and what oil.

but in general with any type of carbon based blades or saws that rust, a multipurpose oil on a rag and then wipe then down after every use.

i use duck oil for that, its similar to wd40 but better, its more oily and does not dry out as fast

What kind of saw, like an electric chain saw?

If so there's specific chainsaw oil or do you mean to stop it rusting while its in storage?

I keep a bottle of old engine oil and a rag to wipe down all my garden tools.

Its just like a chainsaw but electric and goes back and forth. The oil is a lubricant for cutting.

Do you remember the "tin man" in the Wizard of Oz? He had a can with a plunger, that's what I want to refill.
